ClearPath® - Integrated Servo System


The ClearPath-SDHP model allows you to precisely servo-control position (and velocity) using “step & direction” (or quadrature A/B) command signals. These digital signals are commonly used to control stepper motors and digital servos, so they are available from a wide variety of products including PLCs and stand-alone motion control “indexers”. Compared to ClearPath-SDSK models, which also use step & direction control signals, the SDHP models have more peak torque, and come standard with enhanced positioning resolution for a moderately higher price.

Operating Modes

Step and Direction One ClearPath input counts steps from your motion controller, the other input determines if the steps are made in the clockwise or counter-clockwise direction.
Quadrature A/B Quadrature input allows you to use the output of a quadrature encoder to command position and speed. Or, you can use an indexer or PLC with quadrature outputs to command at a speed that is 4x the output frequency (because each edge counts as a "step").

International Orders

ClearPath International Shipping Policies

Teknic ships ClearPath products to a number of selected countries outside of the United States. To see if we currently ship to your country, check the drop-down menu in the “Calculate Shipping Cost” box in the shopping cart or the Country drop-down menus on the Checkout page. Products shipped internationally may take up to two more days to ship due to extra processing time, but we will do our best to ship small quantities within three days.

If your destination country is not available for shipments through our website, and your company expects to purchase more than 320 ClearPath motors per year, you may be able to purchase through Teknic's OEM-direct sales channel. Another alternative may be to purchase through our website using the shipping address of a global freight forwarding service. IMPORTANT: Additional charges not included in Teknic's shipping charges
Teknic's international shipping charges include express air transportation, brokerage fees, and clearance entry fees, but your destination country may charge you import duties (tariffs) and/or taxes and other fees for the products you import from Teknic. These charges are not included and must be paid by you upon receipt of your shipment.

Unfortunately, we cannot calculate what your additional charges may be because customs and taxation policies vary widely from country to country. As a general guideline, the European Union duty rate for ClearPath motors is 2.7%; the global average import duty rate is about 4%; rates of 8-12% are not uncommon; and a few countries are higher. For exact details, please contact your destination’s customs office or visit their official website.

Can Teknic ship my order in less than 3 days?


Teknic is able to promise that any part number ordered from the web will ship within three business days. We are able to promise this because we keep a stock of semi-finished assemblies. Your order is what triggers the final assembly, full test, and shipment of that specific product. This production method allows Teknic to promise a consistent, short lead time for any one of almost a thousand unique part numbers.

Depending on the exact manufacturing and order details, we may be able to build the order in less than three days. If that's the case, we won't hold off from shipping earlier. We just can't promise to ship anything in less than three business days. (And remember to add the shipping transit time to estimate the actual arrival date of your order.)

This blower kit (AC powered fan and shroud) provides a significant increase in continuous torque for certain AC-input (integral hp) ClearPath motors.
