ControlPoint Machine Control

Motion, I/O, Power and Safety Management Core

Whether it's semiconductor wire bonding, medical sample processing, adhesive dispensing, or some other function, your company has expertise in one or more specialized processes. Your competitive advantage lies in translating this process expertise into a smoothly functioning, reliable automated machine. In order to gain the largest competitive advantage, the development cycle must be fast and dependable. This is where ControlPoint comes in.

ControlPoint provides the core building blocks for quickly and efficiently developing high performance, reliable automated machinery. Motion trajectory generation, analog and digital I/O, power control, power distribution, and safety interlock management can all be handled by ControlPoint through a fully integrated programming API. All of these elements can be controlled from the host application through the API or can be pre-programmed to respond independent of the host to time-critical events (and then report back to the host application).

ControlPoint's open architecture allows the use of virtually any digital servo, any stepper motor drive, thousands of sensors and actuators, and whatever mechanical design best suits the purposes of the machine. The integration of all these elements with the machine's user interface and application software is made easy through the use of common and standard development tools (typically Visual Studio C++ or Visual Basic) and well-implemented debugging and error handling tools.

With ControlPoint, automated machinery designers have a rich tool set to creatively and efficiently transform their core technologies into high-performance, cost-effective and reliable automated machinery.
